This week, we are spotlighting Mrs. Debra Treadway. Mrs. Debra is a 1971 graduate of Newark High School - says she'll "always be a Kangaroo at heart." She started at Cedar Ridge in March of 2012, and currently works as the District Bookkeeper. She has lived here all her life, coming from a farm family in the area. Her dad was on the school board when some of the school buildings were built! Mrs. Debra has 2 sons and 3 grandchildren.
"I like spending time with my family, especially my youngest grandson. I like hunting and fishing, watching basketball, gardening, being outdoors, and raising flowers and a big garden for canning and freezing. I also love reading books, watching old movies, and investigating new places with my husband.
I love my job here at Cedar Ridge and the people that I work with. I think we have a wonderful school with many opportunities for our students. I believe we have some of the best educators and administrators in the area who really care about our students and each other."
Cedar Ridge is so proud to have someone like Mrs. Debra!

Today's #StaffFeatureFriday is Mrs. Paula Lovell! This is Mrs. Lovell's 16th year at Cedar Ridge, and her 23rd year in education. Jokingly, she likes to say that she was the "first Cedar Ridge employee" because she was hired at the board meeting that the school district became Cedar Ridge. Paula has a Masters in Curriculum & Instruction and certification in Administration. She also has a degree in Accounting and Business Administration. She currently works as the Director of Federal Programs and Student Services, which encompasses many things including District Testing Coordinator, Homeless Liaison, eSchool Administrator, and more.
Mrs. Lovell has been married to her husband Todd for 32 years. She has two children, Christy and Justin, and a daughter-in-law Laura. She is involved in many different things at her church, including playing the piano. She is on the board for Christmas Brings Hope of Independence County.
"I like to travel and see new places when possible. Work is a big part of my life so I like to relax on the weekends when I can. I'm so glad to have a work family like Cedar Ridge."
Cedar Ridge is so happy to have someone like you, Paula!
Yesterday, Cedar Ridge Elementary competed at UACCB in the Northcentral Coop chess tournament. Slayton Ashley won 2nd in the K-3rd division. Ian Craig won 4th in the 4th-6th division. We're so proud of this group and Mrs. Carol Woods. Go Timberwolves!
Mrs. Brooke Jackson's 3rd grade class has started the novel "Where the Red Fern Grows," and today they had a guest speaker that talked about the importance of hunting. Mr. David Ward spoke to the students about his hunting dogs, his personal experience with hunting, and informed the students why it's important to hunt. The students loved hearing from him and learning more about hunting. Thanks, Mr. Ward!
This week is National School Choice week! Every family has the right to choose the K-12 educational option that is best for their family and we celebrate the options available and the right to choose! Drop a heart if you LOVE being a Timberwolf! #SchoolChoice

For this week's #StaffFeatureFriday, we are featuring Mr. Tim Cunningham. Tim has been teaching Agriculture since 1991 and began teaching at the Cedar Ridge School District in 2008. He has taught in 3 school districts in Arkansas. He graduated from Newark High School in 1986 and from Arkansas State University in 1990. His dad taught Agriculture in the district for 20 years, retiring with 39 years, and his mother taught elementary in the district as well. Tim is on his 12th year in the district and 29th overall.
"I love my job, but most importantly I love God and my family. My faith is the most important aspect of my life. I have been blessed with a wonderful wife, Amy, of 29 years and two sons, Tyler and Austin.
I love working with students and getting them involved in education. There is no better feeling than when a student “gets it” or shares their knowledge with others to educate them.
I’ve had the privilege to start two livestock show programs in two schools over the years. I really enjoy getting kids to work with livestock. It can impact them a variety ways that will affect them the rest of their lives. I have no hobbies, but I guess working with livestock and kids after hours would be as close to a hobby that I have.
I hope that when I retire someday all my former students can say Mr. C truly cared about his kids. They don’t care what you know until they know you care."
Cedar Ridge is so happy to have someone like Mr. Cunningham! Give him a shout out in the comments below!
